The Woodbury School of Business (WSB) is the largest business school in the state of Utah. The WSB provides students with engaged learning opportunities to go beyond the classroom, learning from and collaborating with professionals and real-world projects. Students have the opportunity to participate in competition teams, consulting projects, industry certification, applied research with faculty, internships, study abroad activities and other experiences aimed at building a student’s professional worth and ability to add value to their community. As a teaching institution, the focus is to transform students from all backgrounds and perspectives into successful professionals and lifelong learners who are equipped to act as leaders and stewards of a global and interdependent community.
Students in the WSB have numerous opportunities to be involved in competitions in the community and across the nation. Our students recently competed in the Enactus National Competition, taking second place for their work in the Congo where they helped to create a sustainable business with solar-charging cell phone kiosks. Master’s students took first place in the ACG Cup, and our student-run venture capital fund (Wolverine Fund) took second place at the Venture Capital Investment Challenge after competing for the first time this year. Other competitions include the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, AFCPE Knowledge Bowl, and Oxford Global Map the Systems Competition. Nine out of nine students passed the CFA exam—“the most brutal exam in the world of finance”—in 2018.
